Dizzy is great interspersed throughout and the rest of the group just happily swing along perfectly. Dizzy on The French Riviera was my first stereo LP; it held a magic place in my memory. I didn't play it frequently but when I did it was very pleasurable to listen to the children playing, the sound of the waves and the gradual addition of good, undistorted Jazz. I had deliberated about whether to hook up my equipment and convert to CD.

That all of the participants are extremely talented and can mix and match with Gillespie beautifully makes this an album that should appeal universally to all jazz lovers, and especially his biggest fans.
